My credentials and experience have made me a respected representative in the real estate community: I hold a certificate from the Graduate Realtor's Institute (GRI); I am a Certified Resident Specialist (CRS), and an Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR). But beyond these accomplishments is something else that’s harder to describe. I guess you’d call it love of the area; of the great promise and potential that lives within the halls of the schools; the incredible ever-changing beauty of the land. This expansiveness is what I love most sharing with my clients.
Coming here from Michigan in 1963 with a B.A. and M.A. in History from Western Michigan University, I knew immediately this was where I was meant to set my roots, and for 45+ years, I have been unwavering. My daughter Abby and son Tom grew up here, in the country, in marvelously free surroundings that a city kid couldn’t imagine. My grandson Cody is the next generation of our family to experience coming of age in this area so rich in environment and ideas.
My real estate career began when Mr. D.H. Jones, founder of the Jones Realty Group, asked me to work for him in 1979. The Jones Realty Group has offices in Amherst, Northampton, and Belchertown, with over 65 agents, and is the largest independently owned real estate company in Western Massachusetts. I accepted Mr. Jones' offer and have never looked back. Real estate was right for me. I have used my knowledge of the greater Amherst community, my interest in the area's history, my genuine delight in meeting new people, and the expertise of the Jones Realty Group to help me benefit many, many buyers and sellers over the years. The walls of my office speak for themselves, with myriad real estate sales awards for consistently being a top producer; as well as commendations for outstanding quality service and client satisfaction. My love of the area has led me to energetically pursue a host of outside interests in the community. The arts are my passion; especially theater and I have performed with various theater groups in the greater Pioneer Valley for 30+ years. I am an active member and past president of the Amherst Club, a community service club dedicated to fundraising for local charities. My continuous commitment to the arts prompted a stint as a member of the Board of Friends of Fine Arts at the University of Massachusetts. I also actively volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
